BACK TO BASIC: Tips to finding your pair of bombshell jeans!

The next coming days are going to be the last for us to bare legs in shorts, dresses and skirt. I'm pretty excited for fall, however, with fall pretty much on the way that means pants season has arrived. It's also back to school season, so pretty much back to the basics of jeans and a tee; all day, everyday. For me,  like for most of us, shopping for a pair of great fitting jeans is a huge task. I've gotten buyer's remorse countless of times after spending hundreds on jeans I thought were amazing in store but didn't fit so well at home. Through trial and error I've come up with a few guidelines I follow whenever I'm shopping for jeans. I'm sure they'll be useful to you also.

  1. Know Your Shape

First thing first is knowing your body shape. This is the first step in finding jeans that fit you well. For some of us it may not be so crystal clear as to wear to place out body shapes but having an idea of where you stand would make your life a lot easier.

PEAR & TRIANGULAR BODY SHAPE

This body shape tend to have more curves and hips with a smaller upper body. The goal is to find jeans that would balance out your shape while highlighting your curves. After all, that booty is a gift, so show it off! High waist jeans and high rises will help you do just that

HOURGLASS SHAPE

An hourglass shape simply means that you were blessed with all the right humps in all the right places. This body type is portioned with the both the upper and lower body being proportionate with a small waist. You can get away with a lot of looks, however keep in mind to choose looks hat will keep your body in proportion.

ROUNDED & APPLE  SHAPE

A rounded shape means you have a bigger tummy and breast. choosing the right fit for this body type is difficult however there are plenty of options available. High rise jeans will help conceal those problem areas and even a high waist jeans with  loose top looks flattering on you.

RECTANGLE SHAPE

You are what most models look like. A rectangular shape is boyish, with the upper body, waist and hips being at the same proportion. The goal is to find jeans that will make you look feminine and sexy. boyfriend jeans looks great on you and low rises will help you add proportion to your figure.

2. Don't Be Frugal

If there's one lesson I've learn about buying jeans is not to go for the lower end brand just to save a few bucks. A pair of jeans is a staple in any wardrobe, so opting for the best pair is ideal, even if it means having to spend a few extra dollars. The benefit is rewarded in the cost per wear. If you do the math you're more likely to gravitate to jeans that fit and look well over jeans that are so-so, which means you're more likely to wear they on a day to day basis. Hence the cost per wear is lower for the higher costing jeans compared to the low costing jeans that'll you'll only wear every once in a while.

3. Know Your Tones

The kind of tones you choose will depend on variables like the look you're going for and your body type. Solid tones for example make you appear leaner and loner. While jeans with fades add contours and shadows which can make you appear curvy. But be mindful at selecting jeans with fades. Make sure the fades are in areas of the jeans which compliments shape. Something these fades can work to highlight area we can to conceal.

4. High waist vs. High Rise vs. Low Rise

So many us are conflicted when deciding if a pair of high-waist or low rise jeans is the best fit for us. It all depends on your body shape. For hourglass figures, those with "A" shaped and "figure 8" figures, a pair of high waist will compliment your curve. Hourglass figures should be careful of low rise jean because your assets can spill pretty easily in those. The perfect thing about a pair of high rise jeans is that they can hide a lot, including that muffin top.
Low rise are great for ladies with a tummy because they tend to be more comfortable to wear and also create less bulges .

HOURGLASS SHAPE-  Stick to high waist jeans and high rises because they will make your waistline appear even smaller and highlight those humps.

PEAR & TRIANGULAR BODY SHAPE-  High rise jeans are very flattering on this body type because it helps to show off your killer curves. Avoid low rises because your curves can easily spill out from those.

RECTANGULAR SHAPE - For this shape it all depends. To add focus on your height then opt for the high rises. They will highlight your legs and frame. Low rises will make your appear more proportionate however, so the choice is yours.

5. Have An Idea Of Your Measurements

Your life will be a lot easier having a basic idea of your pants measurements by removing all the guesswork when it comes to purchasing in store. It comes in especially handy if you're buying jeans online, which can be even more stressful. If you have no idea of how to do your own measurements then a hack would be to find a pair of pants or old jeans that fit you well and take down those measurements. Use it as reference when hunting for the perfect fit.

6. In Seams

I mentioned previously that jeans is a staple in every wardrobe because it can be worn at various occasions. Knowing how you want to wear your jeans is also important. If you plan on wearing your jeans with heels for example, you'll want to look for jeans with longer seams. An ideal pair of jeans for this is the boot cut jeans.

76. Pay Attention To The Pockets

You'll be surprised by how a small detail like pockets can affect they way your jeans fit you. Smaller pockets make the butt appear larger, while larger pockets tends to give a more complimentary look to the derriere. Pear body shapes should stick to medium pockets since they are more flattering on your curves. Rectangular body shapes should opt for large pockets to give the appearance of more curves for example.
