Top 10 Trends of #SummerSixteen

Summer Sixteen came with a lot of hot trends. So many trends that I can barely keep up with them all, so I've decided to compile a list of the top 10 trends that I've been loving this summer. Hope you enjoy!

  1. All Things Rosé

From clothes and shoes to Instagram feed and furniture, pink has been the color of popularity this summer. It comes as no shocker since rose gold and other reddish pink tones were a trending color in furniture last fall, so it's no surprise that the rose-toned trend transitioned over to the fashion world. I don't do much color but I am obsessed with blushed tones and this one I could definitely do.

2. Bandanas

If there's a trend I'm most excited about this summer, It's this one - bandanas! I remember wearing bandanas everywhere as a child. I had a pair in every color. Back then, they make the best hair ties and wrist bands for me. Now tossing the bandana around your neck can turn any casual to outfit to instantaneously chic.

 3. One Sleeve button-down

Here's a trend I wish I was genius enough to have started, it's the one sleeve button-down.The button down as you know it is a  staple in every wardrobe, but, sadly it's one of those clothing items that don't get much wear or that we only wear to the office. And if you don't personally own a button down,  just borrow one from a man in your life. Who would have thought that revamping the a classic button down would be so easy. Now you have a sophisticated look and a little shoulder action all in one. Check out how easy it is to create this look on Man Repeller (click here).

4. Off Shoulder

Talking about more shoulder action, the off shoulder look is a big trend this summer. From tops, to jumpsuits, to dresses, we have been seeing this trend everywhere and on everything. It's fun, girly and flirty.

5. Matching Sets

Matching sets are no longer only for the lazy fashionista. Now they are a go-to for everyone. Let's admit it, we all love those " I look like I tried without actually trying" outfits. Sets are perfect for achieving those looks. This summer you can find matching sets in just about any colors and patterns and in just about any style. It's so easy to be chic and fashionable without all the effort involved.

6. Pencil Skirt

The pencil skirt is a classic favorite. It's one of those pieces that can be equally conservative and sexy. It's work or play friendly depending on how it's styled.

7. Transparent Shoes

You already know that I'm all for versatile pieces that can be easily styled with numerous outfits. And nothing says versatility like shoes like these Jennie-Ellen  transparent boots that can easily be match with numerous looks. No more worrying about color matching your shoes and outfit.

8. Frayed Hem Jeans

The distress jeans look has been a trend for many seasons now. You can't go to sites like fashionova.com without seeing a pair or many of distressed jeans in different styles. The frayed hem jeans takes the distressed jeans to the next level.  As the name of the style suggests, the look involves cutting off  the hem and fraying the ankle of your jeans. It  adds a unique look to a pair of regular jeans. I will definitely be attempting this one soon.

9. Pom Poms

Shake your pom pom! Here's a quirky and cool look I'd like to also give a try. It involves putting pom poms on just about anything pom poms could go on. From shoes, to bags, to clothing, to accessories, people are going pom pom crazy. It's definitely a fun look and a conversation starter.

10. Slip Dress

This trend takes me back to the  90's-early 2000's, to The Spice Girls meets Sexy And The City era. Slip dresses to me are like wearable lingerie. They can make you feel ultra feminine and sexy. The upside is that they can be worn in so many different ways. Throw on some converse and tie a plaid sweater around your waist for a casual look; pair it with some stilettos for a sexy date night look or with a leather jacket for a kick ass look. Have fun with it !
