WHATIWORE: GrandPrix Weekend 2016

Montreal was definitely the place to be this past weekend. It was the weekend of the annual GrandPrix and Mural Festival with tons of events and activities for everyone. That time of year when the city is flooded with tourists and celebrities. Despite the cold weather and rain, the activities kept going and the turnout was major.

On Thursday I went to the Mural festival's Schoolboy Q show which also included performances from a few local talents like High Klassified, CJ Flemings and Speng. Despite the rain and it being and outdoor event, the turnout was major and crowd was pumped and energized. In the vicinity of show there were tons of pop-up shops like Neck Breakers and Babes and Gents, whom I recently talked about in previous posts. There were also live murals being created by artists on buses and buildings.

Friday's weather was a little more promising so took the opportunity to check of the GrandPrix events in Monkland Village and later on Crescent Street. The streets were packed with people showcasing and observing sport cars. It's not GrandPrix if you're not wearing black, white and red. Since I didn't have anything checkered in my closet, I went for a look with the next best thing- black and white stripes. I got this dress a while back and haven't worn it much. I paired it with these red heel for Forever21 and decided to keep the look casual but adding my H&M cap. And let's not forget the "sunnies", nothing else screams GrandPrix like a pair of aviators or reflective sunglasses.
