Winter Out West

Winter always seem to bring out the darkest, most "witchiest" modes in all of us. My go to items as of lately consists of anything black. I didn't really realize it until I was playing "Guess my Favorite" with one of my co-workers and  they answered with the utmost conviction "Black!" for my favorite color.

 For this Outfit,  I wanted to keep the focus of the outfit on the toppers such at the hat, jacket and even the scarf since those are what become our for us during the winter season. I also wanted to incorporate some of the pieces we saw in the Fall 2014 trends. The panama hat was definitely one of fall's biggest trends and I started with that to top things off (no pun intended). I'm so in love with this scarf and have been wearing it with just about every outfit. It especially gives this one a touch of needed texture. The brown puffer jacket and matching toned booties keep the outfit playful. The jacket paired with the hat is definitely an unlikely combination that works.I kept the rest of the outfit pretty basic with a plain long sleeve tee and overalls.

Christmas At The Office: Xmas Outfit Inspiration

  I'm actually looking forward to the good ole' holiday party at work. Aren't they always fun. It's probably one of the only times per year that most of us get the chance to socialize with co-workers. Hashtag funtimes!

Autonomy of Grey

Grey is one of those shades that says a lot while doing very little. It embodies simplicity yet chic, subtle but bold, cool and masculine yet feminine and modest all at the same time. I love the idea of an outfit with head-to-toe matching color, and that's exactly where I went with this outfit. To add a bit of dimension I played off the different textures of the cotton top and silk trousers.

Faux fur and Shearling

Keeping a bright face on is going to be super difficult for me this winter. Montreal's winter is in full spring and according to forecasters, we're going to have one of the most brutal winters, since ages. Until then, I'm planning numerous ski trips (well trips to ski resorts) in order to embrace the weather. On the flip side, the sight of freshly fallen snow is always amazing and puts me in a happy place.
